What connects them?

MCAS, POTS and EDS are often discussed as separate conditions. In this free teaching, Dr. Greg Hyde and Elena Marr, ND explore some of the connections they see between: - Histamine - Connective tissue - Vascular function - Copper - Silica - Boron - Mineral balance You’ll hear both physiological explanations and The Vita Institute’s perspective on patterns observed through our work.

Meet Your Guides

Elena Marr, ND, Sonic Alignment Practitioner Elena Marr is a naturopathic doctor who has spent more than ten years listening to women's hormones energetically through sound. Using the physics of sound, she decodes the vibrational frequencies associated with hormones, allowing her to explore and translate their energetic signatures and meanings. Her work uncovers information that cannot be reached through saliva or blood testing alone, including the emotional and energetic meaning carried by each hormone and the ways these hormones communicate and interact with one another, both before menopause and after. This approach offers a deeper understanding of the intricate communication networks within the hormonal system. Dr. Greg Hyde, MD, PhD Dr. Greg Hyde is a board-certified ear, nose, and throat physician who came to hormone medicine almost thirty years ago, by way of an unexpected door. Female patients were coming to him with headaches and presumed thyroid problems, well within his territory as an ENT. As he worked with them, ran tests, and reviewed the medicines they were taking, it became clear that hormone imbalance, often the very hormones prescribed by their primary care doctors or OB-GYNs, was the true source of what they were experiencing in the head and neck. He sent them back to their prescribing physicians, and they returned frustrated: there was nothing else being offered. That did not sit right with him. Thirty years ago, he asked the owner of a local pharmacy a simple question: why couldn't a woman be given the actual hormones her body makes, rather than pregnant mare urine or synthetic progestins like Provera? The pharmacist's answer became a turning point: Mother Nature made it first, and it cannot be patented, but there is a process called compounding. The two of them began taking compounding classes together, and that partnership set Dr. Hyde on a path of hundreds of hours of continuing education, dozens of books, and hundreds of research papers, a body of study he still considers incomplete, in contrast to practitioners who take a single weekend course and believe they have mastered the subject. A Shared Approach Elena Marr and Dr. Greg Hyde work as partners in this field, bridging two ways of listening to the body: the energetic and emotional meaning behind a hormone, and its precise biochemical mechanism. Their teaching moves deliberately between both, because a hormone's message and its physiology are understood to be two expressions of the same underlying reality.
